In this video we shoot and discuss a very rare and odd 22 LR imported in the 1980s from Germany, the Voere Model 2005. This is an open bolt semi automatic rifle, which were barred from production and importation in the mid 80s after the Hughes Amendment was put into place. Firearms like this are still available for purchase on the private market but typically command a premium price due to their scarcity. Stay tuned, much more on the way.

  1. When the gov’t says they don’t like open bolt semi-autos, that just makes want to hand onto mine. My dad first taught me to shoot on his Gevarm (similar to the Voere but made in France…) and I finally found and bought my own 30 years later. Yes, they are very hard to find. The mags are even more elusive and very $$$$$$…….

  2. This must be a previously recorded video because it has been raining and hot here in Ga for about 2 weeks. You are way too bundled up lol!

  3. I have one from another gun company in Germany. The bolt is on the right on mine. Its a “Wischo – K.G. Erlangen”. Very accurate, but I had to quit shooting it because it keeps going full auto and emptying the magazine. If the sear gets dirty or if you use the wrong kind of oil on the sear, it hangs up and won’t hold the bolt back.

  4. Voere is actually Austrian, although their original factory was in West Germany. They are interesting for having produced the VEC-91 which was the only commercial rifle to fire caseless ammunition. Didn’t realize there was a semi-auto adaptation of the AM180.
