Hi, my name is Lilly and I like spending time in nature to practice my survival and bushcraft skills. This is a holistic survival channel which means that besides wilderness survival I also do modern survival videos. Sometimes I use modern tools which people might have at hand in a real survival situation. Also all of my videos are pre-recorded, which mean that they do not get released immediately after I film then. That is why seasons in the video can differ from actual seasons. Thanks for watching ~ Survival Lilly

    1. +Survival LIlly Have you considered archery hunting in a country where it is permitted? Having shot both styles, I find that being able to aim instinctively is a transferable skill between the two. Sights seem to complicate things, so I don’t use them. Nice video today. Cheers.

    2. Traditional bows have always been my favorite I like the recurve the longbow handcrafted or hand made bows made to exact preferences make a big difference in accuracy. Compound bows are just too heavy or too expensive they are accurate but they are not ideal for long trips.

    3. Hey Lilly I think your recurve bow limbs are in the wrong order, the top limb in the video (the one with the mandarin duck logo on it) should actually be placed as the the bottom limb. I have the same bow after watching your vids! It’s great!

  1. interesting comparison. only thing i’d add is that the weight comparison isn’t fair since you’ve got a much higher draw weight and arrow speed with the compound bow, and i also note you’ve got scope and stabilizer attachments on the compound only, adding to the weight. compare compound and recurve bows of similar performance and the weight difference should disappear, or even reverse.

  2. i started off with a compound bow when i got into archery then i changed to traditional bows after 2 and a half years of shooting. while a compound bow is accurate and great for hunting it just has too many components to maintain and it became an expensive bow to own. my friend dry fired it once which broke the bow and that was it for me iv since used traditional bows and gained a love for it.
